RED Thread Stories would like to thank everyone for participating in and joining us during our maiden voyage Season One of stories. We heard tales that made us laugh, cry, heal, wonder and for a moment move beyond our ordinary lives to learn about and regard anothers.
Congratulations to our Season One Slampions Stacey Hollyer Dunagin and Ted Olds for sharing their winning stories at our Slampionship event on April 9, 2013. Additionally we thank all of our Season One Slampionship tellers who came out to share their stories that night. Thanks to Susan Schaefer, Andi Mara, Doug Sciberras, Pam Dawson, Lance Purkey, Scott Rochna, Jeff Doyle, Jennifer Otto, Beverly Black & Aisha Moinuddin.
We look forward to resuming our Story Slam series in the Fall of 2013 at the Uptown Grille in Commerce, MI. Please visit our website in July of 2013 for an update on dates and times.
Since we often get this question we thought we’d answer it for the nervously curious. “Do I have to tell a story?” No, absolutely not. Only those who put their names into the hat will tell stories and on this particular evening only the top two winners from our first 6 monthly events will be sharing their tales.
If you’re considering telling a story next season please remember that all stories must be 5 minutes or less. Our monthly theme is posted for guidance and brainstorming but if the RED Thread of story leads you in another direction that’s just fine with us. Our objective is to encourage storytellers to bring stories that are meaningful, and stories that expand the hearts and minds of those of us in the audience. If you’ve got a tale, bring it and tell it!
Stories are judged by our Audience & Expert panel. Stories will be evaluated on how well they are told, whether or not they fit the format of story, and on whether or not they are a truthful and personal event experienced by the storyteller. No trips to outer space in an alien ship or that famous old family favorite tale that Uncle Harold used to tell at parties.

Marie “So I pushed open the door and I screamed, and she screamed.”

Come and listen to a wonderful collection of stories. Join us for a most unique, engaging, and guaranteed entertaining experience that will have you coming back for more!
The Uptown Grille offers a delicious menu and full bar in a comfortable yet elegant environment.
